Most of us (parents) have no idea what harms we might be doing to our lil ones while we're trying to care for them. Especially through medications we administer, without being aware of the risks involved.
Please if you use any of these syrups for your infants for teething or cold, kindly put a stop to it and let other mothers know about it too.
BABYREX, PANDA COLD, etc
"Babyrex is dangerous for baby. It has caused a lot of harm to children because it contains chlorphenamine meant for adults (not babies) with allergy and itching. Just stick to paracetamol only if need be add ibuprofen (for teething issues). Throw away babyrex please." -says a good doctor
A lot of mums have been complaining about babyrex. The makers are now in jail and have officially been withdrawn from the market. Some criminals still sell them.
Babyrex seems to have a very fast relief on babies and makes them sleep much too. In as much as we enjoy this side of the syrup, please pay attention to the harm the CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE used in making Babyrex causes to our infants.
-Overdosage may cause hallucinations, convulsions, and death.
-Antihistamines may diminish mental alertness.
-In young children, they may produce paradoxical excitation.
-Contraindicated in newborn or premature infants. Sustained-release form not recommended in children younger than 12 yr of age.
Please make sure you read labels on every medication before administering to your baby. Ensure to avoid using any syrup that contains CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE on children below 12 years.
